Dream Bizarreness Reconsidered

Dreams frequently show impossible
and/or improbable aspects compared
with common life experiences, which have
been referred to as “dream bizarreness”.
Although the issue of dream bizarreness
has already been discussed by the
psychoanalytic dream theory, the first
systematic investigations on this aspect of
dreaming only began in the Sixties, when a
few authors started attempting to measure
dream bizarreness by objective indicators
(1-3).
