Organization of The Manuscript
All part of the manuscript or letter to the Editor, including case reports, quotations, references, and tables must be typed double-spaced with wide margins throughout on one side.
Original articles, have no specific word limitation, but keep in mind that a short paper is more likely to be read. The text should be ordered under the following principle headings (subheadings are acceptable), with each heading and subheading clearly defined:
Case reports must be strictly limited to 1000 words, carry no abstract, and have minimal figures, tables, and references.
Reviews, have no specific word limitation. Letters to the Editor (maximum of 600 words, including references; no tables or figures) will be considered if they include the notation "for publication." A letter must be signed by all of its authors. Letters critical of an article published in the journal must be received within 12 weeks.
References should be numbered and listed by their order of appearance in the text; the appropriate reference number in parentheses follows the text citation. Provide all authors' names when fewer than seven; when seven or more, list the first three and add et al. Provide article titles and inclusive pages.
Accuracy of reference data is the responsibility of the author. Authors' names and initials, full title of cited article, title of the journal in which the article appeared (abbreviated), year of publication, volume of the journal and finally the pagination, first and last pages should be included. Please carefully follow these examples, paying attention to spacing, punctuation and text format:
Agargün MY, Kara H, Solmaz M. Sleep disturbances and suicidal behavior in patients with major depression. J Clin Psychiatry 1997;58:249-251.
Hilgard ER, Hilgard JR. Hypnosis in the Relief of Pain, Revised Ed, New York: Brunner/Mazel Publishers, 1994.

Tables should bear Arabic numerals and be typed on separate sheets of paper. Each table requires a title and should be numbered in the order of their mention in text.
Figures should be submitted as clear, glossy prints, and professionally drawn and numbered with Arabic numerals in order of their mention in text. Uncounted photographs on glossy paper should be provided.
Type reference lists, tables, and figure legends on separate sheets.
Proofs and Reprints
After acceptance, manuscripts are forwarded to the publisher, and questions regarding publication, reprints, proofs, etc. should be addressed to them. The corresponding author receives proofs approximately 6 weeks prior to the publication, which must be corrected and returned to the publisher within 48 hours of receipt. Late return of proofs may cause delay in publication. Text, tables, legends, and references must be checked carefully.
Reprints may be ordered prior to publication at the prices quoted, using the reprint order form that accompanies proofs. This form can also be downloaded in PDF format from www.sleepandhypnosis.org/reprintorder.asp.
